A group of 3 – Haskell Pillars, Aeon and Hades are all from the same clone grape, but different soil, slopes and altitude defines each on its very own style. All three were in French oak barrels for 18 months and there is only a limited stock left as we are discontinuing Aeon and Hades.
PILLARS 2014 – decomposed granite soil with 30% rock. The nose shows flavors of violets, sweet coffee, liquorice, plums and fruitcake.
AEON 2014 – South facing vines with decomposed granite with 5% rocks; it is our lowest block on the farm The initial smell is black pepper, hints of leather, s[ice and shows lots of mulberries and plums at the end.
HADES 2014 – grown on our highest block of vines with decomposed sandstone granite with 38% rock. The nose shows flavors of red & black fruits, fynbos, floral perfume, pepper and hints of vanilla.
