From the cellar #9
Some wine experiences come from left field. Sitting in a Singapore restaurant last Monday night, we ( myself and a group of local wine lovers ) were approached by another diner in the restaurant who enquired if we would like to finish the half bottle he had left over.
It had been a big night, with many great wines consumed. Donnhoff Off -Dry Riesling, Grivot Vosne Romanee 2009, Pichon Baron 2007, amongst others. But when someone offers a wine from one of the greatest white wine makers in the world, you don’t think twice.
And it was a wonderful wine. Consumed well before its time, but possessed of the vibrancy, energy and balance of all great wines. The generosity of the wine community never ceases to amaze- it’s a great industry to be a part of.
